Mentally Disordered Persons in European Prison Systems – Needs, Programmes and Outcome (EUPRIS)

To describe and analyse how individuals with psychosocial disorders and mental health problems access imprisonment settings and prison system situation in project partner countries.
The project assessed the services provided to the imprisoned individuals with psychosocial disorders or mental health problems and achieved results (through the aspects of suicides, suicidal behaviour, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, etc.). The project resulted in a standardized questionnaire and aiming to clarify how information on mental health care services for the individuals with psychosocial disorders or mental health problems is collected and stored, information was collected in twenty-three European Union member states plus Iceland, Norway and Bulgaria.
